Coach Training

Professional Coach University is a Coach Training School that prepares students for the profession of coaching. Our curriculum is the Professional Coach Training Program, which is recognized by the International Coach Federation. Our courses may be taken a la cart or within a cohort structure.

COURSES

Introduction to Coaching (5-hours, self-paced)

The purpose of this course is to introduce and orientate participants to the leadership discipline of coaching. Introduction to Coaching is a self-paced course to get acquaint you with coaching. This course helps you get started with the full cohort process with professional coach university. This course explores the history of coaching, definitions, terminology, and the function of coaching. You will be introduced to core coaching competencies and professional coaching ethics. This course provides 5 coach education contact hours. This course is self-paced and is offered through a video delivery method.

Coaching Fundamentals (15-hours, online class)

The purpose of this course is to help students understand and practice coaching fundamentals. We will explore the flow of coaching conversations. Participants will gain an overall understanding of what coaching is, how it differs from other leadership disciplines, and how to partner with others to achieve their goals. Participants will deepen their awareness of the eight ICF Core Coaching Competencies, emphasizing: Embodies a Coaching Mindset, Listens Actively and Evokes Awareness. This course provides 15 contact hours. The course may be offered in-person or through Zoom.

Coaching as a Leadership Discipline

The purpose of this course is to move the theory of coaching to practice. Now that you understand what coaching is, it is time to implement coaching competencies into your behaviors, leadership, and coaching practices, empowering coaches to implement coaching competencies into behaviors, leadership, and coaching conversations. This course highlights the following ICF Core Coaching Competencies: Demonstrates Ethical Practice, Embodies a Coaching Mindset, Establishes and Maintains Agreements, Cultivates Trust and Safety and Maintains Presence. This course provides 15 contact hours. The course may be offered in-person or through Zoom.

Designing Transformational Coaching Experiences

The purpose of this course is to learn how to coach leaders and employees within organizations. We will introduce participants to a strategic approach for developing long-term relationships with corporate clients. In addition, we will explore the impact of Emotional Intelligence in the coaching process. This course highlights the following ICF Core Coaching Competencies: Embodies a Coaching Mindset, Evokes Awareness and Facilitates Client Growth. This course provides 15 contact hours. Coaching Change

The purpose of this course is to utilize all eight ICF Core Competencies in coaching for change. We will look through the lenses of change management and coaching organizational culture shift. This course highlights the following ICF Core Coaching Competencies: Embodies a Coaching Mindset, Cultivates Trust and Safety, Maintains Presence, Evokes Awareness and Facilitates Client Growth. Get Certified

Certified Coach

  1. 35 Hours of classroom training. This is the equivalent of completing two courses with the Professional Coach Training Program.

  2. 40 hours of logged coaching. You must spread these hours over a minimum of five different clients. Your logged coaching hours may include a maximum of ten “pro-bono” hours. This means that you must receive payment for a minimum of 30 logged coaching hours.

  3. 5 Mentor coaching hours. You must receive at least five mentor coaching hours from an ICF-approved mentor coach. A minimum of one Mentor Coaching Feedback form must be completed.

  4. Submit a recording of your coaching to be assessed by a PCU assessor. Your recording must be over twenty minutes but not more than thirty-five minutes long. Recordings may be video or audio files. You will be assessed on the use of the ICF Coaching Competencies. You will receive written feedback.

COST: $1849

Executive Certified Coach

  1. 65 Hours of classroom training. This is the equivalent of completing two courses with the Professional Coach Training Program.

  2. 100 hours of logged coaching. You must spread these hours over a minimum of five different clients. Your logged coaching hours may include a maximum of ten “pro-bono” hours. This means that you must receive payment for a minimum of 30 logged coaching hours.

  3. 10 Mentor coaching hours. You must receive at least five mentor coaching hours from an ICF-approved mentor coach. Three Mentor Coaching Feedback forms must be completed.

  4. Submit two recordings of your coaching to be assessed by a PCU assessor. Your recording must be over twenty minutes but not more than thirty-five minutes long. Recordings may be video or audio files. You will be assessed on the use of the ICF Coaching Competencies. You will receive written feedback.

You may see our pricing at Professional Coach University (PCU) and are grateful that we are one of the most financially accessible coach training programs in the United States. Your savings does not end there!

PCU has an articulation agreement with Southeastern University (SEU) in Lakeland Florida. SEU awards all applicants who complete a certification with PCU a total of nine credits toward a masters degree. These credits are in the form of three 3-credit electives on your transcript.
